Polruan has a variety of shops for general supplies,
while Fowey town on the opposite side of the harbour has a supermarket,
post office, tourist information, great fishmongers, bakers, deli, healthfood
shop, well stocked second hand bookshop, artist’s suppliers and gift
shops, as well as some good restaurants. You get to Fowey either by they
passenger ferry from Polruan jetty or car ferry further down the river at
Bodinnick.
Walks around Polruan are beautiful and being National Trust, well kept and
clearly marked. There are several lovely unspoilt coves within walking distance
of Moville that are reached by going through fields and down cliff paths.
However, for the less energetic there are other sandy beaches nearby that
you can drive to and are on the flat. There are masses of leaflets, maps,
walks and suggestions for things to do
in the house. |
